The most common thing I hear when people find out I am fostering is; “Oh I could never do that, I wouldn’t be able to give them back”.

You can and you do and a little piece of your heart goes with them.  I just have to remind myself that for every furry friend I have given the chance of life and a loving home to there are many many more that deserve the same opportunity.

Over the past two years I have fostered bottle feeders, kittens who are shy and nervous and older cats that are scared and hostile and destined to be barn cats, all of whom have found their furever home.

The Cinderella Crew:

Cinderella, Prince Charming, Anastasia, Drizella and Gus Gus.

A handful having five babies at once but extremely amusing!

My first fosters, MuMu and TuTu. Two little bottle feed babies found in a garbage can. About two weeks old when they came to me.

Chloe is an older cat who came to the shelter with two siblings. The siblings were adopted but Chloe was hostile and was designated to be a barn cat. It took a lot of patience but she eventually opened up and is now in a very loving home.

Pennington was found all alone on a country road.  The sweetest little guy who is now living the life of Riley under his new name of Cricket.

Salt and Pepper. My latest accomplishment and my foster fail. I could not part with Salt.

He totally chose me!!

Don’t be afraid to foster, it is extremely rewarding.  If you are reading this you are half way there - you have a kind heart.
