What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a global movement that celebrates generosity and the power of giving back. Held each year on the Tuesday following American Thanksgiving, it brings people, charities, businesses and communities together to make a positive difference.
In 2026, Giving Tuesday falls on December 1. It's an opportunity to support causes close to our hearts and show how even small acts of kindness can have an extraordinary impact.
For Northumberland Humane Society, it's a chance to come together to provide care, compassion and second chances for animals in need.
How does the match work?
Thanks to the generosity of Ganaraska Brewing Company, every donation made to Northumberland Humane Society between November 1 and midnight on December 1, 2026, will be matched dollar for dollar, up to a total of $15,000 in matching funds.
That means your $25 gift becomes $50, your $50 becomes $100, and your $100 becomes $200!
Together, we have the opportunity to turn $15,000 in community donations into $30,000 to provide food, shelter, veterinary care and second chances for animals in need.

Will I receive a tax receipt?
Absolutely! Northumberland Humane Society is a registered Canadian charity, and we're pleased to provide charitable tax receipts for eligible donations of $20 or more.
For one-time donations, your tax receipt will be sent by email or mail. If you're a monthly donor, you'll receive one consolidated tax receipt after your final monthly donation of the calendar year.

Absolutely! When making your donation, you can select the fund or program you'd like to support.
If you choose “Where Funds Are Needed Most,” your gift will help Northumberland Humane Society respond to its most pressing needs, including nutritious food, veterinary care, safe shelter and the everyday essentials that keep animals healthy and comfortable.
